xEdit vs xSite/xSite vs xEdit
xEdit now has many of the useful features which made xSite so popular,
it does, however, differ from xSite in several ways, some of which are
listed here.
xSite
xEdit
xSite takes a long time to start.
xEdit does not, all of the bulky and/or less used features in
xSite has been left out of xEdit.
xSite has a tag inspector, useful for beginners
xEdit does not have a tag inspector, because parsing the
text to get the current tag slows the editor down.
Has a javascript object inspector
The entire concept of the inspector has been changed to
a file centric tool panel, only the project, snippet and
file explorer panels have remained.
Supports templates for new pages
Does not... copy files if you want to re-use stuff or use "Save As"
Has QwikEdit... a WYSIWYG editor (if you have IE 4.01 or higher installed)
DHTMLEdit is a dog and has it's own problems. It's slow and
bloats the software... it's therefore not in xEdit.
